origins story

Our cacao comes from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia — home to the world's tallest coastal and glacial mountain, where nearly all of Earth's biomes exist within a single range. This cacao is cultivated on small agroforestry farms, a sustainable alternative in a region increasingly shaped by palm and banana plantations that threaten local biodiversity. In 2019, Denise met Pedro Bolivar, a third-generation cacao farmer who describes cacao as being in his blood. From this rich, storied origin, we craft bean-to-bar chocolate bars — thoughtfully made chocolate that also makes for meaningful gifts.
